The world of the Malegaon Film Industry is so fascinating! At TIFF I spoke with the writer of Superboys of Malegaon Varun Grover, and the real life inspiration behind the film Nasir Shaikh. Varun tells me about the research he did on the people and the industry of Malegaon, the questions he had on why and how they made films using minimal resources. Nasir Shaikh the man himself talks about screening Charlie Chaplin and James Bond films in Malegaon, why he decided to make films, and what he thinks of the film — Superboys of Malegaon.
